An amazing book, and a very personal history of a forgotten family. Obviously an essential read for fans of history, racial politics in the USA, or anyone with anything do with biological and medical sciences; however, readers of any genre should get something out of it, I think. Well edited and understandable by those without a scientific education, but doesn't talk down to those who do have one either. I kept reading sections out to my partner - possibly annoying, but definitely a sign of a good book!
