A beautifully-written fairy tale read appealingly by Gaiman, who retains the wonder in his voice, avoiding sounding bored as he does with some of his other audiobooks. However, I didn't like it. The Chosen One protagonist was deeply unlikeable, and the central storyline was one of my most hated tropes (woman falls in love with her captor). I ended up being glad I was finished, rather than wanting more as I did with The Graveyard Book.
